I am interested in learning all I can about SEO and other marketing techniques. I'm just getting started so any advice is welcome.

As long as we're discussing procedure Joshua, it's best to carry on discussions within the Discussion Forum, since each one serves as a conversation thread. Hope you're planning to invite people to the site by sharing your profile link or a link to this group.

Here is one for link building called www.dropmylink.com searches .edu and .gov blogs that allow for adding links. As you already know Larry just make sure the future members of this group see that you must give a quality post or they will likely see it as spam. So no posts saying like the site give an example of why you like the site as it pertains to the posts.

My site is still growing I just threw it up less than a month ago. But I love hubspots tools. Another good one for us organic SEO people is www.spyfu.com it allows you to check what the company is paying for PPC so you can approach them for organic marketing concepts that will save them a fortune.

I'm also a big fan of Website Grader (and I've used Twitter Grader many times to perform Twitter searches based on bio). My main blog has a high Web Grader score.

What about SEO tools?

My favorite by far is actually a free tool by hubspot www.websitegrader.com . It tears apart information from the back-end of the site such as 301 redirects, alt text, headers, domain expiration, rankings, indexed pages, last crawl date, social media mentions, blog, etc. Check this one out if you've never used this you have missed out.
